Spent the day researching weird refund checks...It was interesting in a good way. Got lots of things done, found some other weird stuff that will be dealt with tomorrow, and hopefully it'll go well!
I was able to run to the shop tonight, and get a few decrease rows done on my purple vest. YAY! Only a ton more to go. Oh well. It's just knitting!

Forget working, we're just surfing
I think today was THE most unproductive day I've ever had at work. My one friend and I usually email BS back and forth all day, but he was stuck in meetings due to the new changes, so that was limited since he was sitting with a big deal boss.
My employees I told do whatever they wanted as long as they did some work along the way. I don't feel like being there either.
Had a TASTY lunch today though! We went to Noodles, had mac and cheese with double asparagus. OMG, I could eat it every single solitary day. SO deelish. If I weren't already a nerd with my knitting everywhere, I'd take a photo of the mac and cheese. Yum.

Well crap
I took the day off today to take care of my son who was sick all night. Dad had an auction, and wouldn't be here. So I stay home, and the owner of my company comes in and announces we're shutting down operations in the office where I work. Super freaking fantastic... I have maybe 6-9 months left at my office, then I'm on the street. I doubt I'll get much of a severance package due to the short time I've been there, but we'll see. Just a bad, bad day.

Just go to bed...
Great kids book. If only it worked! Little Monster or whatever he's called won't go to sleep. Alas, so was Alex last night. He had a funky nasal thing start, and he's been regularly clearing his sinuses since. We were up until about 4, then slept til 7. Gee, I am refreshed (INSERT EYE ROLL). I don't want to go to work tomorrow, just sleep!

I'm ALIVE!
So let's see, I rarely post because since going back to work, who has time?! I've been knitting some, working a lot, and just trying to keep up with the family and house. My mother had a fire at her condo from her next door neighbor's fire, and is in a hotel for quite a while. My dad's been diagnosed with 2 forms of cancer, both of which will hopefully be removed completely in one surgery. It's been a tense month or so. My parents are divorced, but friendly, so it's not terrible, but my dad is over 2,000 miles away in AZ. He's going to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale however, so he will get great care! With some family and great work friends, I'm getting through it all. : )

Have you ever personally moved a yarn shop?
Oh my...That is ALL I can say. My friend Joyce owns a yarn shop, www.yarnshoponline.com and we just moved the ENTIRE thing down 3 doors yesterday. We were all volunteering to help, so I made my husband and 4 year old son help as well. Joyce wasn't planning on moving it all in one day, and planned on packing and unpacking all the yarn I think. Well, when you have two auctioneers who move peoples stuff for a living, all you need is a two wheeled dolly, a furniture dolly, and some Motrin. Did I mention the Motrin? YEAH boy. We tossed the bookcases storing yarn on the two wheeler and hauled them all downt here, as well as the unenclosed stuff onto the flat dolly, and away we went. Alex moved ALL of the toys himself too. He was QUITE proud. He brought 2 wagons to help he and his grown up friends move things too. All in all, it was a great day! Today I went over to help move and straighten yarn wherever it had strayed off. We had QUITE a few orphaned spools run off into the parking lot while moving stuff. It was NUTS! We were chasing them through the parking lot. HILARIOUS!
I also managed to put a boatload (read I hate doing laundry when I tell you a large amount 2 posts in a row) of laundry away, about 5 baskets! Then I cleaned Alex's room, went through toys, and clothes and had to pass out after it all. I think I'm going to go chill now and watch this 13 going on 30 movie on cable. And for tomorrow...GO BUCKS!
