My irises are having THE best year ever! I think this is year 3 or 4, but they are really truly established now, and blooming themselves nuts in the past 2 days. UNBELIEVABLE fragrance. So wonderful! I hope the mail lady enjoys them. I will definitely be putting more in. WOOHOO!

It's the kitty pi high
My aunt asked me to knit a kitty pi for one cat of hers, Becky! Becky is a little special. She'd take a short bus if she were a person. She just ain't right. Of course, with a real name like Steinbeck (not Rebecca), you'd be weird too. Her loved her kitty pi...Her loved it!
Also, she gave me a cat toy that her daughter's girl scout troop whipped up for one of the local no-kill Cat Welfare places. They took stray socks, stuffed them with a mix of fiberfill and catnip. It's like you just stuff some fill, then catnip, and fill, and catnip, til it's full! Then you stitch the end shut. My cats LOVE it...She saved them one since I made her the kitty pi for Becky. They've been laying on it since I brought it in the door a half hour ago. Goofballs.

Ugh...
I'm sick. Alex was sick, and now it's my turn. Woot! Party people in the house, if that party is snoozing ALL day while your child runs rampant and covers the floor in toys...Over and out...zzzzzzzzzzz
This is Alex with Brutus Buckeye at Cheryl's Cookies. He's such a ham., He's holding his hand just out of view!

Alive and knitting...
I've been so MIA for SO long it's not funny...I've been knitting a lot lately, but not as much as usual. I burnt myself out, and I've got a baby blanket deadline. You know how well those sit...NOT well. I hate deadlines. Rather than knit on it, I did a tank in the round in 48 straight hours (omg, never again). I also have messed around with a felted purse for my niece, and some little rinky dink things here and there I'm still working on.
We've been landscaping the heck out of the front lately. Last year we installed pavers and a retaining wall in the late summer, and it was winter before we could do the landscaping end. Dirt doesn't till well, nor do plants in the winter in Ohio, so we waited until a few weeks ago. We also put in an unplanned 35 gallon water garden/pond with a bubble fountain. We added some feeder goldfish, too (at 39 cents a piece, if they die, they die, if they live, well they weren't dinner). I love sitting out there just vegging and knitting. NICE in the spring!
Aside from that, it's been pretty slow here. Maybe I should call my water garden pond Lake Wobegon. Where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average.
Here's my knitting by the pond... And why you shouldn't knit on a sloped driveway.
It's my new sock...In Online Beach.
